About Us
Incorporated in 1902, The Essex Terminal Railway Company has provided switching services for 119 years in Windsor/ Essex. We are engaged in the industrial, lumber, steel, agricultural, scrap metal, alcohol, and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) industry sectors as well as serving our sister companies, Morterm Limited with rail access for our Great Lakes transload facility and Motipark Limited with rail access for Automotive shipping and storage. ETR’s direct connection to CN, CP and CSX and its strategical location to vital transportation arteries means our customers cargo can reach any point in the rail networks of Canada, the United States and Mexico.
ETR is committed to the highest level of safety while conducting its activities in these communities within the strict accordance to the rules and regulations of Transport Canada and other governing bodies, with the safety of our employees, neighbours, the motoring public and pedestrians foremost in mind. A few of ETR’s contributions to safety is its decision to operate at 10 mph (16km/h) and support Operation Lifesaver, a North American effort to educate everyone on the importance of obeying crossing signals and dangers of trespassing on rail lines.
