2025 Warden's Luncheon with County of Essex Warden and Town of Leamington Mayor, Hilda MacDonald

Leamington Mayor Hilda MacDonald is the first woman to serve as Warden of Essex County since the position was established in 1853.

MacDonald was elected Mayor of Leamington in 2018 and again in 2022. Prior to that, MacDonald served one term as Leamington’s deputy mayor and for two terms as a councillor. She has served on the Association of Municipalities of Ontario board of directors and the Ontario Small Urban Municipalities executive committee for the past six years.

As Warden, she serves on the following boards: Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and Invest WindsorEssex.

MacDonald is a lifelong resident of Leamington. Prior to politics, she ran her own business while raising her children. She is married to her husband, Doug.
